BELZONA CALLED TO FIX FAILED COATING

Problem: The leak turned out to be a hole measuring 36" x 48" and cut completely through the 8" thick wall. Rebar had to be tied back in and the wall needed to be rebuilt to specification. The plant was still in operation, so the acids were diverted to holding tanks and taken off site for processing...an expensive and tedious process.

Application Situation
Small leak in the wall of an acid pit. The leak was below ground and the pit walls had to be excavated, shored up, scaffolding, extreme safety measures involving several contractors...all due to a competitors coating failure.
Application Method
This application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflets TCC-9 & -15
The repair required a form built on the outside so Belzona® 4111 & 4141 could be packed into the hole. Several smaller holes were discovered inside and out. Each repair was then covered with 2 coats of Belzona® 4301.
Belzona Facts
The costs associated with this small leak were in the upper 10s of thousands of dollars. This turned out to be 1 of several repairs needed due to competitive product failures.
