Belzona® Protects New Steel Covers From Hot Acid Spills

Application Situation:

New Steel Plates fabricated to replace old plates

 
 

Problem:

Acid had attacked the old plates and caused safety concerns. Area subjected to spills of hot acid.

 
 

Products:

Belzona® 4341 (Magma CR4)
 

Substrate:

steel chequer plate

 
 

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-5 & 15. New plates were abrasive blasted and two coats of Belzona® 4341 applied. Concrete surrounds similarly prepared and protected.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

Coating with Belzona® 4341 was cheaper than using stainless steel for the plates and provides excellent resistance to the hot acids.
