Problem: Chrome plating on the rod had been damaged in places which had allowed corrosion to take place. The size and location of the part made preparation difficult and reduced the opportunity for dimensional finishing of the job after application.

Application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of BelzonaKnow-How Leaflet MPT-2.

To obtain a replacement part would have taken up to a month and would have resulted in production losses of over $1,000,000. The Belzona solution took only two days and costs, including labour, amounted to just over $50,000.
