Application Situation:

Expansion joints on natural draft cooling tower.

 
 

Problem:

Leaking joints prevented tower de-icing system to function properly, resulting in ice damage to concrete tower.

Belzona® 3921 (GSC Surface Conditioner)

Belzona® 9311 (Reinforcing Sheet)

 

Substrate:

Concrete, existing joint sealant

 
 

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How Leaflet HEX-13b.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

All repair work was completed during a scheduled plant outage. The Belzona system was installed at 18ºF. Inspection 18 months later revealed excellent performance.
