Novel Replacement Of Gutter In Chemical Plant Using Belzona

Application Situation:

Gutter for collecting spills in a truck unloading area for Caustic soda and Hydrochloric acid.

 
 

Problem:

The original gutter was made of tiles which became soft and porous.

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with modified Belzona Know-How System Leaflets TCC-5 and FPA-10. A new gutter made of steel was coated in workshop with Belzona® 4311 on the inside and 1 layer of Belzona® 4911 + aggregate on the outside. On site the gutter was cleaned and prepared, then the new steel gutter was grouted into place using Belzona® 4151 mixed with sand to seal between the concrete and the steel gutter.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

The customer needed the unloading area back in service as quickly as possible. As the steel gutter was coated and inspected at the workshop, downtime was saved, and only 3 days were required to install the new gutter.
