Problem: Regular application of salt had led to deterioration of the concrete beneath the asphalt. When asphalt was removed, a major structural issue was uncovered. The structural engineers at the council gave the approval for the repair.

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona® Know How System Leaflet FPA-1.

Belzona Facts

Alternative: Knock it down and replace it with a steel fabricated platform to strengthen the whole building. Benefit: Work was completed during summer holidays and local authorities were delighted due to the major cost savings estimated to be around £20k minimum. Recent (2011) examination showed application to still be in excellent condition.
