Problem: Years of use had caused severe corrosion and cavitation erosion on the turbine. Customer had received bids for new replacement but chose Belzona on economic grounds.

Application Situation
Severely eroded Francis turbine runner. 
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets CEP-3 & CEP-5. Corroded surfaces were rebuilt and smoothed with Belzona® 1121 before coating with Belzona® 1341 for long term protection.

Belzona method saved the customer in excess of $150,000 and restored turbine to its original efficiency.
