Belzona® Simplifies Conveyor Belt Repairs

Application Situation:

Conveyor belt carrying newspapers & magazines to trucks within a distribution centre. The conveyor is moving millions of newspaper and magazines per day normally working through the night.

 
 

Problem:

From time to time the conveyor belt will get damaged from the papers or magazines getting jammed up between the side walls and the rollers.

Belzona® 2311 (SR Elastomer)

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet SHM-1. The conveyor belt was stopped once the shift had finished and can be repaired before the next start-up.  

 
 

Belzona Facts:

This conveyor belt is the only one in the facility and is working throughout the night to load papers and magazines onto truck. The repairs need to be quick or the back log of papers/magazines build up in the facility. The cost of a new belt is about £2,500, the alternative is a specialized vulcanized repair costing around £350.00 with a three day lead time.
