Problem: Due to age and weathering the steel plates had become holed and badly corroded creating a safety hazard.

Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet FPA-8. After surface preparation was carried out, the small holed areas were rebuilt with Belzona® 1111. The steps were then overcoated with Belzona® 5811 and Belzona® 9221 (Surefoot Aggregate) blinded into the step noses.
Belzona Facts
The school looked into replacing the steel plates at a cost of over £12,000 for the two fire escapes. The Belzona repair was carried out in one week at a fraction of the cost.
