Problem: The areas were approximately 80mm deep and reqired filling and levelling. The three areas were a severe safety risk to the trucks operating in the plant leading to imbalance and disruption to production. The repairs had to be completed over a weekend shut-down.

Application Situation
Three areas of extremely uneven flooring in the bottling hall. Areas included failing quarry tiles, epoxy screed and concrete.
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System leaflet FPA-1. After breaking out the failed epoxy flooring, quarry tiles and deteriorated concrete the levels were made up by bonding pre-cast concrete slabs into place before applying a 6mm screed of Belzona® 4131. Finally 2 coats of Belzona 5231, incorporating additional aggregate, were applied to create non-slip surface.

The repairs were completed over a weekend and the speed of application and cure ensured the plant was operating normally when opened on Monday. The system offers a level, safe, hard wearing surface ensuring this busy bottling plant operated at maximum efficiency without any loss of production.
