Major Belzona® Safety Repairs In Bottling Hall

Application Situation:

Three areas of extremely uneven flooring in the bottling hall. Areas included failing quarry tiles, epoxy screed and concrete.

 
 

Problem:

The areas were approximately 80mm deep and reqired filling and levelling. The three areas were a severe safety risk to the trucks operating in the plant leading to imbalance and disruption to production. The reopairs had to ber completed over a weekend shut-down.

Belzona® 4131 (Magma Screed)

Belzona® 5231 (SG Laminate)

 

Substrate:

Concrete, Quarry tiles and epoxy coating

 
 

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System leaflet FPA-1. After breaking out the failed epoxy flooring, quarry tiles and deteriorated concrete the levels were made up by bonding pre-cast concrete slabs into place before applying a 6mm screed of Belzona® 4131. Finally 2 coats of Belzona 5231, incorporating additional aggregate, were applied to create non-slip surface.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

The repairs were completed over a weekend and the speed of application and cure ensured the plant was operating normally when opened on Monday. The system offers a level, safe, hard wearing surface ensuring this busy bottling plant operated at maximum efficiency without any loss of production.
