Absorber Repaired And Protected With Belzona

Application Situation:

Badly corroded throat area in absorber.

 
 

Problem:

The bubbler throat on the absorber had developed a number of holes within the vessel compartment due to substrate erosion/corrosion.

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets TCC-1 & TCC-5. A total of 16 handleable sections of pre-formed mild steel plate were cold bonded to the substrate using Belzona® 1121 to completely encapsulate the affected areas. Once the Belzona had cured, the plates were frost blasted and the entire repair area was protected with Belzona® 1391 to prevent further damage.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

The application was completed within three days providing the client with minimum downtime and disruption to the facility. The Belzona was selected for its excellent erosion-corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures.
