Problem:

Erosion and corrosion attack on the internals of the vessel resulted in the requirement for a fast applied lining which would resist further attack.

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet TCC-5. Following thorough surface preparation by grit blasting, Belzona 1111 was applied to fair off welds and in fill areas which had suffered from pitting. Belzona 1331 was then applied as a two-coat system by heated airless spray to provide overall erosion corrosion protection.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

The customer chose to use Belzona 1331 due to its excellent erosion resistance combined with the rapid application times achievable using airless spray equipment, allowing the vessel to be returned to service with minimum downtime.
