Application Situation
Damaged shaft at a waste water plant
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet MPT-2. Damaged area was prepared with a grinder to make the surface rough and ready for the application. The surface of the formers were treated with Belzona 9411, applied in 2 coats in accordance with the Belzona Instructions For Use. Belzona 1111 was applied to the shaft and the formers. Then the formers were attach to the shaft allowing the Belzona 1111 to cure in accordance with the Belzona Instructions For Use. A suitable emery cloth/crocus paper was used to complete the application.
Belzona Facts
Belzona 1111 will not corrode and is resistant to a wide range of chemicals. The Belzona 1111 also has a high mechanical strength and exceptional heat resistance. Repairing shafts using forming technique provides a smoother finish than machining and more importantly can avoid the need to dismantle and remove the plant equipment from its location.
