Belzona® Restores Electrolyte Pump Bases & Containment Area

Application Situation:

Leaking copper sulfate/electrolyte with 20 % sulfuric acid, has caused damages to the pump bases and containment area.

 
 

Problem:

Deterioration due to chemical attack has jeopardized production of copper. Vibration in the pumps as well as ongoing spalling and acid attack require Belzona products.

Belzona 4131 (Magma Screed)

Belzona 4311 (Magma CR1)

Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets FPA-1 and FPA-3. Belzona 4131 was applied with a trowel.  Belzona 4311 was applied utilizing a combination of paint brushes and rollers.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

Belzona was installed quickly and efficiently while the pumps were fully operational. The Belzona system will prevent potential vibrations due to loss of base structural stability. This will prevent possible loss of copper production.
