Customer Location:

Spokane, WA, USA

Application Date:

August 2013

Application Situation:

Attaching steel plates to the top of a water tower for the purpose of mounting expensive new cell phone antennas.

Water towers cannot be welded or through-bolted. Whatever is used to bond the plates must be able to withstand high winds and extreme temperature from below freezing to above 100F.

Belzona 1111 (Super Metal)

Application Method:

The IFU for the Belzona 1111 was followed. The MBX Bristle Blaster was used to prepare the tank. A grinder with a coarse wheel was used to prepare the plates. Non-chlorinated cleaner was used to clean the surfaces prior to the application.

Belzona Facts:

Belzona 1111 was chosen for this application due to its ability to strongly bond to a steel substrate. Without the ability to weld or drill holes in the tank, Belzona's cold curing product was the best and only option.
