Photograph Descriptions

1. Initial preparation complete, paint removed.

2. Partially complete

3. 'Gorilla' tape being used to help the 4"X4" plates stay in place until the Belzona 1161 has cured. Also tape on the threads of the studs so the Belzona 1161 does not get on them.

4. Application is completed.

Application Situation
Attaching steel plates to the side of a water tower to run fiber-optic cables up to the cell phone antennas on top.
Application Method
It was just under 41F at the start of the project, so the team did the initial surface preparation of removing the paint while we waited for the temperature to rise. Once the temperature was over 41F, they began final preparation of the tank surface and started mounting the plates working their way from the top to the bottom. Surface preparation on the tank was done with the MBX Bristle Blaster, and preparation on the plates was done with a coarse grinding wheel.
Belzona Facts
Belzona 1161 was chosen for this project because of the heavy fog and moisture in the air at that time of year at this location allowing for the project to move forward without any concerns of water delays.
