Problem: Bi-metallic corrosion had eroded much of the metal (about ¼ inch) from the rudder pintle housing.

  4. Rudder pintle inserted and allowed to set up before being removed with the aid of a 30 ton hydraulic jack. The reformed bore was inspected by the ships insurers and found to provide almost 100% contact.

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet SOS-3.

Using Belzona eliminated the need for extensive welding and line boring. The application was completed in less than 12 hours.
