Application Situation:

Tube sheets and end covers of a heat exchanger.



Pitting corrosion and bi-metallic corrosion caused leakage.

Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet HEX-1 for repairing eroded-corroded tube sheets and HEX-3 for applying erosion-corrosion resistant coatings. The surface was abrasive blasted to prepare the area for application. Belzona 1111 was applied to the surfaces of the tube sheets and end covers to fill any pitting and damage using an applicator. Belzona 1321 was applied to the surfaces using a brush to protect against corrosion.


Belzona Facts:

Belzona 1111 can be applied without the need for specialist tools. It will bond to almost any surface and can be machined using conventional tools. This multi-purpose repair composite will not corrode and is resistant to a wide range of chemicals. Belzona 1321 can be applied without the need for specialist tools and will bond tenaciously to a wide range of substrates. This multipurpose polymeric coating will not corrode and has outstanding resistance to a wide range of chemicals.
