Belzona Facts
Belzona was chosen as a means of providing an effective, long lasting repair. Alternatives would have been to try to weld the damaged areas but as it was the weld seams that were leaking and there was very tight access this was deemed impractical. There was also the contamination and presence of diesel to contend with which further ruled out the use of any hot work. The repair was carried out over the course of two days to allow for full curing of the material before pressure testing and then returning the vessel to service.
