Application Situation:

Concrete base of the leg of the transmission tower.



Due to the transmission towers being exposed to weathering, its concrete bases suffer from deterioration. The accumulated rainwater tends to oxidize the structure of the tower, weakening the metal base.

Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet GSS-3. Firstly, the concrete surface was abraded, cleaned and allowed to dry. The conditioner, Belzona 4911, was applied and allowed to dry. Belzona 4111 was then applied. After the completed cure time and dry to the touch of Belzona 4111, Belzona 3921 was applied and after the specific amount of time, Belzona 3111 was applied.

Belzona offered the customer an excellent cost effective solution, recovering and waterproofing the area susceptible to water accumulation.
