Proven Belzona® Repair And Protection Of Floor Problem Areas

Industry:

Buildings & Structures (BSTR)

Application:

Customer Location:

Correctional Facility, Missouri, USA

Application Date:

September 2003

Application Situation:

Metal tread on concrete steps

Problem:

The metal treads on these stairs had come loose due to severe spalling around the fasteners. The corrosion of the treads had stained the risers and created an unsightly appearance. The conventional solution was a costly tear-out and replacement.

Products:

Belzona 4131 (Magma-Screed)

Substrate:

Concrete

Application Method:

The application was carried out by the in-house crew with Belzona technical training. Lap siding was attached to the risers to use as formers and Belzona 4131 was applied to completely resurface the steps.

Belzona Facts:

The durable Belzona system was a fraction of the cost of replacement and had limited downtime, allowing the stairs to be back in service the very next morning. This solution has an unrivaled slip resistance and is impervious to ice melt and freeze/thaw.
