Carbon Steel

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet VPF-11. A 1/2 segment pipe was cut to size to create a reinforcing plate and after thorough manual surface preparation, both the surfaces of the pipe and plate were wetted out with Belzona 1161 with additional product being applied to the plate. This was then offered to the pipe and secured in place with ratchet straps, which sealed the leak and immediately allowing the process to continue. The straps where removed the following day once the product was cured.

Belzona Facts:

Conventional replacement of pipework was time consuming and expensive, and welding was not an option. Customer required a quick, long lasting  repair which would not affect production and cause downtime.
