  3. Plate cut and ready to bonded with Belzona 1111
  4. Finished application after coating with Belzona 1321
Application Situation
A heater tank operating at 80°C.
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-1. After surface preparation had been carried out, a custom-made plate was bonded using Belzona 1111. The plate was cut to fit the nozzle and brackets on the tank and was grit blasted prior to going offshore. As an additional protection, Belzona 1321 was applied on top of the plate to prevent future issues with corrosion under insulation.
Belzona Facts
Reducing the temperature to carry out the surface preparation and the application was only possible over a short period of time. The temperature at the time of the application was dropped down to 40°C. The work was completed over 1 shift which was greatly appreciated by the offshore operator and ensured production could continue with minimal disruption.
