Problem: This rural water utility's 40-year-old primary storage tank for potable water had corrosion, pitting, sediment build-up, and a few dime-sized holes. Any coating or repair material had to be NSF 61 approved.

Application Situation
Internal lining and hole patching of a 100,000 gallon potable water tank
Application Method
The sediment was removed followed by a thorough surface pressure clean. To ensure effective adhesion the surface was abrasive blasted. Holes were repaired from the outside of the tank using Belzona 1111 and Belzona 9341 in accorance with the Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-1. Belzona 5812DW was applied to the ceiling, floor and inner wall of the tank according to the Belzona 5812DW Instructions for Use document.

Installing a new tank was not an option for this small town water utility, but Belzona was able to restore the old tank and keep it operating for years to come. According to the customer, "it looks like a brand new tank!"
