Belzona® Saves New Wind Turbine

Application Situation:

New windmill being installed on croatian coast.

 
 

Problem:

Flange section of one of the windmils was found to be distorted and needed to be rebuilt to ensure good fit to the other section.

Belzona 1211 (E Metal)

Belzona 1212 would now be recommended for this application).

 

Substrate:

Steel

 
 

Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance with a modified Belzona Know-How System Leaflet GSS-7. A former was used to guide the rebuilding of the flange face.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

The alternative to make a whole new section was too costly and time consuming. Failure to erect the windmill within schedule would have incurred huge costs. Belzona rebuild ensured a secure connection between sections could be achieved.
