Playground Decking Made Safe With Belzona

Industry:

Buildings & Structures (BSTR)

Application:

Floor Problem Areas (FPA)

Customer Location:

Primary School, Cleveland, UK

Application Date:

2016

Application Situation:

School Playground

Problem:

Wooden decking areas in the playground became very slippery in certain conditions. There had been an injury claim against the school so they wanted to retro-fit a grip system to make it safer for the children.

Products:

Belzona® 5811 (Immersion Grade)

Belzona® 9211 (Supergrip Aggregate)

Substrate:

Wood

Application Method:

The application was a modified version of Belzona system leaflet FPA-8. Belzona 9211 was incorporated into the Belzona 5811 and injected along selected grooves before being blinded with more aggregate.

Belzona Facts:

The application was completed in one day with over 200m of grip installed over seven areas. This was more cost-effective and less disruptive than a replacement.
