Belzona® Overcomes Roof Design Flaw

Buildings & Structures (BSTR)

Roof Problem Areas (RPA)

Customer Location:

River Dam Authority, Vinita, OK

Application Date:

August, 2005

Application Situation:

Leaks entering into various rooms, including the Board Room, at this HQ building from various points around the roof.

A small collection trough around the 660' perimeter of the roof had mistakenly been "engineered" into the original installation. Water collected and eventually drained under the roof sheets toward the center of the building until it found a leak path onto the ceiling.

Belzona® 3111 (Flexible Membrane)

Darby gum roofing sheets and metal flashing.

Application Method:

Application carried out according to Belzona Know-How System Leaflet RPA-1. After surface preparation a fully reinforced Belzona® 3111 system was applied so that it overlapped onto the metal perimeter trim and the main roof covering.

Belzona Facts:

The application quickly sealed this water penetration point effectively bonding to the different substrate materials. Cost of materials under $1K, Immediate response and supervision from the Belzona Consultant ensured the work was completed in less than one day by the clients own staff.
