Application Situation
Client called with an ongoing issue of leaking hot water from stress crack corrosion on stainless steel pasteurization pipes. The previous solution, a fiberglass wrapped system, failed after a month of operation. The surface temperature range from 175'F to 250'F max.
Application Method
The repair was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How System Leaflet HEX-9. Belzona 1391T was applied by brush onto the blasted substrate. The reinforcement sheet was wetted out with Belzona 1511 (Super HT-Metal). 3 wraps were required to wrap the pipe and to make sure the first coat of Belzona 1391T was well embedded into the substrate. Finally, the second coat of Belzona 1391T was applied by brush.
