Application Situation
Holed chemical tank & corroded handrail support.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-5. After a preparation involving needle-gunning & abrading a support plate was bonded onto the underside of the repair area using Belzona® 1111. Once this had cured the whole area was then rebuilt using Belzona® 1111 incorporating reinforcing sheet.
Belzona Facts
No hot work was allowed when the tank was in use so the customer originally wanted the repair to last to the next shutdown in 9 months at which time they planned to carry out a fabrication repair. After inspection during the shutdown they decided the Belzona repair was sound & a fabricated repair was not necessary.
