Problem: Salt brine is pumped into the ground to force stored petroleum out of storage for processing. The pumps suffer from the effects of erosion/corrosion caused by the brine.

Application Situation
New pump bowls need protection to provide a long service life.
The previous bowl were lasting less than 6 months.
Application Method
Application was completed in accordance with Belzona Know-How System leaflet CEP-3.
The pump bowls were heated to a pre-application temperature of 90°F.

Unprotected pump bowls were lasting only a few months.
The Belzona coated pumps are meeting the needs of the plant, after well over a year in service.
This predictive maintenance practice will save the plant a great deal of money and improved pump reliability.
