Application Situation:

Agitator blades in crystalization tank which is an important component of the Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) unit.

 
 

Problem:

Rubber clad blades damaged through impact and abrasion. Each shaft has three blades and there were four shafts.

Belzona® 2111 (D&A Hi-Build Elastomer)

Belzona® 2131 (D&A Fluid Elastomer)

 

Substrate:

Rubber covered steel

 
 

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System leaflet SHM-9.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

By choosing to repair the blades in-situ instead of replacement, tremendous financial savings were realized. This allowed the maintenance planners additional budgetary monies to repair even more blades in an additive tank that were repaired during the same outage.
