Application Situation
When installed, the outer edge of the large rubber extrusion is under tension and the inner edge is under compression. During vessel assist operations, the rub rail (15,000 lbs each) split.
Application Method
Application was carried out out in accordance with Belzona Know-How Leaflet SOS-12.
Belzona Facts
The job was successful. Rub rails still split but not where Belzona was applied. Now they cut out the split and bond in a new section with Belzona® 2111 (D&A Hi-Build Elastomer).
