Problem: After years of use the belt had developed a tear and clay was penetrating the layers in the belt, if the belt was to deteriorate further the factory would need to employ an unplanned shutdown.

Application Situation
Primary conveyor delivering clay into the building from the quarry.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How system leaflet SHM-1, the tear was patched using Belzona® 2311 incorporating Belzona® 9341 (reinforcement tape).

The application was finished in 1 hour and the conveyor was back in service with minimal delay, usually the company would call in a specialist vulcanizer halting production for hours, the cost to replace the belt was thousands and a vulcanized repair would have cost £1300.00, the Belzona repair cost less than £100.00 and saved the company thousands in lost production.
