Problem: The transformer was leaking transformer oil. This was a safety concern as the transformer could overheat. The transformer could not be transported from site as the leaking oil could contaminate the surrounding farmland. A quick solution was required to avoid operational delays.

Anwendungsverfahren
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona KnowHow System Leaflet TCC-1. The surface was prepared using power and hand tools before applying the Belzona 1212 to seal the leak.
Belzona-Fakten
Belzona were tasked with supplying material over the weekend as for every day the wind farm was out of service the customer was losing in excess of £34,000 due to the wind turbines were in sequence and all turbines had to be switched out to replace faulty transformers. Belzona 1212 surface tolerant material offered a rapid curing solution to allow the transformers to be replaced as planned with minimum down time and maximum protection to the environment.
