Belzona protects cooling tower basins for a sugar refinery

Problem: After an audit, the company was asked to check that their cooling basins were in good shape. They realised that a few of them needed to be fixed. The concrete was disintegrated and the resin (not a Belzona resin) that had been applied a few years ago was not efficient anymore and this required removing and replacing.

Application Situation
The cooling basins used in this refinery were attacked by chemicals: bleach and anti-corrosion agents which are usual additives for industrial cooling waters.
Application Method
The concrete was prepared by sand blasting, Belzona 4111 with Belzona 4151 was used to repair and resurface the cracks then the basins were coated with 5811 for chemical protection in accordance with Belzona Know How system leaflet TCC-9 + TCC-15.

The basins have been back in service for a few weeks now and the customer is really happy with the application. This customer has been using Belzona products for a long time now, he did not consider another option for this repair and wanted to go directly for a Belzona solution.
