Belzona® Reseats New Rudder Bearing Bush

Problem:

Severe corrosion and impact wear of the bush housing resulted in annular gap between the housing and the bearing bush in excess of 8 mm.

Belzona® 1221 (Super E-Metal)
Belzona® 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal)
 

Substrate:

Cust Iron and Bronze

 
 

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet SOS-9. The injection of Belzona® 1321 was done through injection ports drilled in the bearing wall.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

Keeping the bush in place and insulated from the housing with Belzona provides resistance against galvanic corrosion.
