Application Situation:

2.9 M diameter Butterfly Valve which controls the inlet water to the turbine.

Problem:

After more than 30 years working, the shaft had severe damage and loss of diameter causing water leaks

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet MPT-2.

Belzona Facts:

Replacement of the shaft would have needed a large part of the installation to be disassembled. With Belzona the customer saved these high costs and has restored shaft with improved corrosion resistance. Use of former enabled shaft to be accurately reformed in-situ.
