Petrochemical (PETR)

Tanks and Chemical Containment Areas (TCC)

Customer Location:

Petrochemical Plant, Torun, Poland

Application Date:

June 2005

Process Column

The column operated with acids, trichloroacetic aldehyde, dichloroethane and trichloroethane at 20-100C and is protected by a graphite fibre reinforced laminate. This lining was additionally protected with acid proof bricks. In the first year of operation it emerged that there was no possibility of sealing the column manhole after opening during routine inspection, and a suitable protective system was needed.
