Application Situation
Concrete block tank holding stock being fed to the #1 Paper Machine. It has a pressure release valve to allow blow-by in case of emergencies and it failed. The pressure grew to the point that the solid, reinforced concrete lid lifted and stock blew out the sides.
Application Method
This application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-9 and WPA-4. The area was grit blasted to remove stock and prepare the concrete. Deeper areas were filled with Belzona® 4141 and Belzona® 4111 was used over the entire outer surface to ensure containment.
Belzona Facts
The decision to use Belzona Products was based on past use and performance. Concrete for repair was considered but discounted.
