Application Situation:

Loading dock for Sodium Hydroxide (caustic) on banks of the Mississippi.



The concrete loading dock was suffering from chemical erosion and threatening to contaminate the river.



Belzona® 2111 (D&A Hi-Build Elastomer)
Belzona® 4311 (Magma CR-1)




Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets TCC-12, -7 and -15. Surface prepared by abrasive grit blast. The entire dock was overcoated with Belzona® 4311. Expansion joints and seams were sealed with Belzona® 2111.


Belzona Facts:

The customer is responsible for containment subject to governmental regulation and potential heavy fine due to the close proximity of the dock to the river. Belzona was able to prevent contamination of the environment. Application has been in service for 6 years, and is in excellent shape today.
