Application Situation:

Rebuild and protect the tube sheets on the faces of chiller. Also returned five years later for customer to inspect and to coat the channel box and baffle.



Tube sheet was suffering from bi-metallic corrosion and channel box was suffering from erosion/corrosion.



Belzona® 1111 (Super-Metal)

Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet HEX-1, HEX-2 & HEX-3.


Belzona Facts:

The unit was one of three identical units at this facility. Once opened, the customer was satisfied with the performance of the Belzona coating and allowed a second application on the "sister" unit. The customer also allowed for the channel boxes to be coated, and for the existing tube sheet to be coated with another layer of Belzona® 1321. This application will extend the life of both chillers for many years, and saved the customer $275,000 per unit in replacement costs.
