Belzona® Protects Condensor Joint For Twenty Years

Application Situation:

Carbon Steel expansion joints below the condensor corroding due to bimetallic corrosion.

 
 

Problem:

Joints could not be replaced in the short nuclear plant refueling outage. Corrosion had caused holes in the metal expansion joints.

Belzona® 1321 (Ceramic S Metal)

Application carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets VPF-1 & -2.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

First repair lasted 20 years. Although the unit had been down 10 of those years. When the unit was restarted the engineers inspected the old Belzona and found it in excellent shape with only minor damage. It was decided to remove the old Belzona and rework the project. A dozen joints were repaired and coated.
