Belzona® Belt Repair Keeps Mine Producing

Application Situation:

Conveyor belt at aggregates.

 
 

Problem:

A large rock found its way between the drive roller & the belt, resulting in extensive damage to belt. Minimizing downtime was crucial!

 
 

Products:

Belzona® 2211 (MP Hi Build Elastomer)

 

Substrate:

Rubber Conveyor Belt

 
 

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet SHM-1. The belt was cleaned, degreased, and undercut 1/4" x 3" wide on all sides of damaged area. Reinforcement tape was embedded in the Belzona® 2211 for additional strength.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

The cost of downtime and new belting was significant and customers production schedule did not allow for replacement. This repair was completed in a fraction of the time needed to replace the belt. Customer experienced significant savings in downtime and replacement costs.
