Application Situation:

Suction bells from two cooling water pumps.



Erosion had caused serious loss of metal with holes completely through the substrate in places. Loss of effieciency and unscheduled downtime lead client to look at replacing the items. 



Belzona® 1311 (Ceramic R Metal)

Belzona® 1321 (Ceramic S Metal)

Belzona® 5811 (Immersion Grade)

Application Method:

Bells were sandblasted to a white to near Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflets CEP-3, CEP-4, and CEP-5. Belzona® 1311 applied to bring housing back to original dimensions. The internals were then coated with Belzona® 1321 and exterior with Belzona® 5811.


Belzona Facts:

Replacement for both suction bells would have been an estimated $90,000.00. Total for Belzona materials were $5,200.00; savings totaled $84,800.00.
