Belzona® Returns Pipeline Pig Back To Service

Application Situation:

The pig (scraper) travels more than one hundred kilometers inside huge wastewater pipes to keep walls clean.



Wear on the rubber tail causes imbalance in the pig.



Belzona® 2111 (D&A Hi Build Elastomer)



Natural Rubber


Application Method:

The application was carried out according to Belzona Know-How system leaflet SHM-9. Belzona® 2911 Conditioner was used to ensure maximum adhesion to the substrate.


Belzona Facts:

Applying Belzona was time and cost effective. The conventional way to return the pig to service is by replacing the old rubber tail by a new one which is expensive, needs long time to be imported and takes not less than three days to replace. Belzona application was done in one hour with significant savings in cost.
