Application Situation:

Interior coating of ion-exchange filter used to produce water for boilers

 
 

Problem:

There were blisters, holes and layer of salts under the original polymeric coating after more than 50 years of service. When old coating was removed many corrosion pits in the substrate were detected.

 
 

Products:

Belzona 1111 (Super Metal)

Belzona 5811 (Immersion Grade)

 

Substrate:

Mild Steel

 
 

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System leaflet TСС-5. Deep holes were welded. Small areas of corrosion pitting was rebuilt with Belzona 1111. Coating was applied by heated airless spray.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

Customer had good experience with Belzona in the past and was impressed with this application. Faulty filter with many corroded holes was fully restored, well protected and had good finish. Furthermore, high standard of surface preparation and application achieved by contractor assured client of long term protection to this critical equipment.
