Problem: Breakdown of the original coating system had resulted in severe corrosion, deep pitting and through holes around the heating bundle. In addition the corrosion led to discolouring of the hot water supply in this prestige international hotel, leading to customer complaints.

Application Situation
Hot water calorifier tank operating at 75°C (167°F). The tube bundle has an inlet temperature of 100°C (212°F) and outlet temperature of 60°C (140°F).
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets HEX-2, HEX-4 and HEX-5.
Belzona Facts
The client was looking for a quick and economic long term solution to this image damaging problem. Only the affected area was rebuilt and the Belzona coating overlapped onto the original coating. An initial inspection after 8 months showed no breakdown and the solution was subsequently applied to the second calorifier. After 4 years in operation the hotel maintenance manager confirmed that the Belzona coating is in the same perfect condition.
