Problem: Leak caused by insulator damage. PCBs are extreme environmental pollutants now widely banned. Disposal can only be through specialist waste handlers. this leak was preventing safe disposal of the transformer.

Application Situation
Transformer filled with PCB (Polychlorinated Biphenyl)
Application Method
Application carried out in accordance with modified Belzona Know-How System Leaflet VPF-11a. Belzona® 1161 was applied at 3-4 mm thickness onto the broken insulator. Cure was accelerated by using heat lamps.
Belzona Facts
The customer wanted to dispose of the condenser but this request was refused by a waste disposal firm as the equipment would cause environmental contamination by PCB. The Belzona repair was completed quickly allowing disposal to safely continue without risk of polluting the environment.
