Problem: Up to five litres of oil per day were leaking through the bushings. Full repairs, working inside the reactor were deemed to contravene their Duty of Care, so alternatives were sought.

Application Situation
Earth bushings on an oil filled switching unit
Application Method
Application was carried out by encapsulating and sealing the leaking bushing to the surrounding metal. A jack between roof and bushing top was used to stem leak by compressing against cork gasket while the Belzona application is completed.
Belzona Facts
The repair was completed in 12 hours and cost just 6% of the quoted price to effect a full repair, that in any case could not be carried out for health and safety reasons.
