Problem: An L shaped cut approximately 300mm across the length of the belt was found in a new conveyor belt.

Application Situation
The material recycling facility have several thin conveyor belts to enable the various separation processes. Unfortunately they can be damaged relatively easily and are costly and time consuming to replace.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How system Leaflet SHM-1. Top cover was cut back before repairing with Belzona® 2311 incorprating Belzona® 9341 (Reinforcement Tape).

The cost of replacing a new belt is estimated at £600.00 plus labour. The Belzona repair solution cost approximately £39.00 in materials offering a saving of £561.00 The whole process including preparation, repair and cure time took around 2 hour 15 minutes. The application was completed out of hours so as not to impact on production.
